The Department of Science and Technology and Department of Energy through SAWEP2 (South African Wind Energy Project) for sponsored 37 students from across SA Universities to participate in this year’s Wind Energy Conference – WINDAC AFRICA 2018. SAWEP 2 is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) with the DoE as the implementing agency with UNDP Country Office support. Some of the students presented their own research.

Organised by the South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) and the Global Wind Energy Council, WindAc Africa is a collaborative networking environment in which a dialogue between experienced researchers, motivated students and members of the wind industry is actively facilitated. The third WindAc Africa conference was held in Cape Town from 5-6 November 2018 under the theme of Knowledge for an integrated energy transition.
