Partnerships

While UNDP and the UN collaborate with individual line Departments on specific programmes, Coordination at the central level takes place through the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) (strategic international relations), National Treasury (coordination of Official Development Assistance (ODA)) and the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) (alignment in terms of planning, monitoring and evaluation of programmatic interventions to the NDP).

UNDP programmes are implemented under the leadership and direction of the Government of South Africa and in full partnership with Government authorities at national, provincial and municipal levels. This work is supported with resources from the various sources principally from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the South African Government and other development partners.
