Gender-Intimate Partner Violence
Gender-Intimate Partner Violence

This behavioural insight study on gender-based violence is a joint product of UNDP South Africa and Georgia and UN Women and is the winner of the 2017 UN Innovation Award. This study aims to contribute towards addressing the challenge of gender-based violence by understanding why people, especially those closest to the survivors of GBV and other bystanders from the general public do nothing or not act in a timely and effective manner to stop the violence before something more serious occurs. It therefore seeks to identify mechanisms that may spur citizen action and end “bystanderism”.
